I’m a transformational coach

I work with clients on career, health, parenting, relationships and general wellbeing. I help my clients identify, honour and activate their life’s purpose so that they can live their best life.

I believe entirely in transformation because I’ve experienced radical change in my own life and seen it in others. I know that it’s possible.

Deep inside each of us lives a unique and powerful story of transformation. My own story has been around deepening trust in myself, in my intuition, and in this truth: while stress is a part of life, ongoing stress is not required for me to feel that I am doing enough.

Today, I feel alive in my purpose. I’m here to help others access the power they have so they can live their own unique life.

Coaching is my second act

Trained as a journalist, I honed my inquiring mind as a news & current affairs producer with Canada’s Broadcasting Corporation. Midway through my decade-long career at the CBC, my overachieving drove me into unsustainable stress and burnout. In need of relief, I turned to meditation and yoga. Through this difficult journey, I began to discover a wonderful gift: my life’s purpose as a coach and empathic leader.

My career focus began to evolve, leading me to create and co-found an award-winning workplace wellbeing incubator at CBC called Make It Better. I led that project until my first maternity leave and went on to have a second child two years after my first. Through my early motherhood years, I studied to become a certified coach, mindfulness facilitator and yoga instructor.

My coaching is both science & wisdom

A journalistic rigour guides me to integrate science-backed data and evidence-based tools in my work with clients. I completed coach training through the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI) to be a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach - dubbed by Harvard Medical School as the gold standard for coach training. I’m accredited as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation, the only globally recognized, independent credentialing program for coach practitioners. I’m trained as a Mindfulness Facilitator and Yoga Instructor through University of Toronto’s Applied Mindfulness Program and Yoga Alliance, respectively.

My effectiveness as a coach is powered by the intuition and spiritual mindset I’ve deepened after nearly two decades of mindfulness practice and ongoing personal healing work.

Impact Work

Workplace Leader: Make it Better

I cofounded and led the award-winning CBC workplace wellbeing incubator project, Make It Better. This initiative reached several hundred employees, providing supports to enhance overall wellbeing for staff. Programming included an intimate and inspiring discussion series for staff on leadership, wellbeing and innovation with guests like Olympian Mark Tewksbury, Pulitzer Prize winning L.A. Times Photographer Barbara Davidson and internal innovators like Business Correspondent Amanda Lang. We developed an accessible yoga program for staff and I personally led regular mindfulness classes. We created more inviting physical spaces to foster community and we published a regular bulletin to share employees’ positive news. Our team was awarded the inaugural CBC President’s Award in 2015 for the positive and measurable impact of this initiative.

 

Gatherer: The MoMentum

I created a community, coaching program and transformative experience for purpose-driven moms longing to amplify their impact in work without losing sight of other priorities like family and wellbeing. Hundreds of women have attended The MoMentum events, retreats, courses and coaching programs since its launch in late 2018.

 

Facilitator: Corporate Coaching

I create and lead energizing and impactful workshops, talks and group coaching experiences. I work with teams who want their communication & collaboration to become more effortless and intuitive, who want to maximize the impact of what they do best and who crave a more fulfilling, inclusive and healthy workplace. Past clients include TVO, Polar, CBC and Toyota.

  • Top of Your Game: I created, developed and produced this multi-platform series about wellbeing featuring Mark Tewskbury, a first of its kind at CBC News. In 2009, when programming was still divided by platform, this series integrated radio, TV, online and consulted with a paid sponsor.

  • Haiti Legacy site: I was the main TV producer on the small team behind this Webby-nominated multi-platform website created to commemorate those lost in the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

  • Champions of Change: I co-developed and designed the original concept for this search for Canada's Top Volunteers, in collaboration with CBC News' Director of Innovation, including bringing on the paying sponsor for the program.

Creating inspirational, highly-curated experiences like retreats and workshops to promote positive change. Collaborating with conscious businesses to create high-impact and high-vibe experiences for purpose-driven moms. Past collaborations for panel talks include The Detox Market, Muse Headband, Greenhouse Juice Co., She Does The City and The Workaround.

Creator: Elements of Ritual

My friend Jen Birenbaum and I co-created this powerful set of curated, locally-sourced and eco-friendly items as a restorative way to find grounding through the unease of the pandemic. A grounding practice of ritual is vital in times of uncertainty and we felt called to share our own ritual practices by creating a set of tactile items to support others'. Amongst the many beautiful items in this collection is a set of original prompt cards which I wrote and designed to provide guidance, reflection and inspiration through the day. Each card features a different mindful theme along with hand-painted watercolour elements fresh-pressed from items gathered in nature.
