remind to remember
a few words on THIS MOMENT
when the raindrops fall
and fall and fall
i am safe and sheltered
the lull of the patter tap tap patter patter
tells a story to my old and fearful brain
inquietez pas (don’t worry)
nowhere to go, nothing to do
i need these reminders and cues
like little hamsas hanging on door handles
throughout the house
reminding me to tune in to the tap tap rhythm
to allow the bigger waves of fear and control
to pass
i find whatever bits i can
to remind me
that i have an old brain
telling me an old story
about an old fear
that it wants me to believe
then i can remember
that i have an evolved mind
with an even older rhythm
of an even older wisdom
for me to remember
