For this Weekend’s Boost, I’m sharing the story of one of my clients who is finding her flow. Jennifer (pictured below) and I have been working together since the spring. And, here’s what amazes and inspires me most about Jen and her journey: more and more, Jen is committed to moving from a place of realness and love. There is something so refreshing about being in her presence! I always leave our sessions inspired to ask myself how I can show up in my own life in a more real and loving way. Scroll down for Jen’s story and, below that, check out the beautiful poster for Jen’s upcoming movement flow offering this October. I’ve been to a few of Jen’s classes and they are exquisite, healing and powerful. Bonus: the studio for this series is absolutely stunning. Hope to see you at one of Jen’s classes next month!
The MoMentum of Jen: In Her Own Words
When I first began the Momentum with Natalie, I had the goal of going back to work as an Occupational Therapist and figuring out how to balance that with motherhood. However, what has transpired for me since doing this work is so much bigger than what I could have ever imagined. Through conscious contact with my deepest, truest self, I have uncovered many of the barriers that were holding me back and also realized that what I want is quite different than what I thought I wanted… or what I thought I “should” want. Natalie has helped me to realize fully that the energy within me that I cultivate and nourish directly relates to what I can put out into the world. I always knew this deep down, but now I am living it. I have begun to let go of many of the negative thought patterns, habits and behaviours that were deeply entrenched and working against me.
Now I feel like I’m finally free to live my best life. Now I am focused on living each moment being present with my children and other people I cherish, being kind and loving towards myself, and thinking about how I can be of service to others. This is TRUTH.
I may not be doing exactly everything career-wise that I have dreamed up yet, but I can feel it unfolding and I’m taking steps towards building this in an authentic way. I have had to let go of my “professional status” as an OT and this hasn’t been easy. Realizing that time is a construct, I’m now ready to take the risks of a new direction for my career as a therapist. My yoga classes are an opportunity to share this journey and continue to keep myself accountable to this path of honesty and presence. I’m also investigating further training in psychotherapy. I now see this shift as putting myself back into a learner mindset, which is the greatest gift and investment I could give myself. I look forward to connecting with others on this journey as it unfolds!
Jen is leading a four-class yoga series all October on Thursdays. You can attend a single class as a drop-in or register for the full four-class series.
I LOVE Jen’s classes and LOVE the vibe of this beautiful studio. See below for all the details…and, I hope to see you there!!
